The 2nd Annual Craiger Memorial Horseshoe Tournament will take place on April 12, 2025, in memory of Chris Craig and to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation. #doit4craiger
Following the success of last year’s event, much of the format will remain the same. The cost to participate is $10.00 per person. This will once again be a coed tournament, and teams will be formed by drawing names the morning of the event—no need to bring a partner to join in the fun!
The event will also feature a raffle, a 50/50 draw, and opportunities to donate. All proceeds will go to support a family currently on their transplant journey. Details about this year’s recipient family will be shared in the coming weeks. Last year, the tournament was able to support two separate families—one awaiting a donor, and another who had received a transplant but faced complications that required frequent travel to Toronto. Updates on these families are expected soon.
A potluck will be held again this year. Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite dish, while hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Participation in the horseshoe tournament is not required to attend—everyone is welcome. Attendees are simply asked to bring a potluck item and consider making a donation.
For those not playing horseshoes, a Euchre tournament may be organized if there is enough interest.
As always, there will be a table set up with information about organ donation, registration, and liver health. Everyone is encouraged to wear their #doit4craiger shirts or something green in support of organ donation awareness.
