Kingston Challenge

The Transplant Advocate Association (TAA) is challenging the City of Kingston to be #1,"to be the top ranked city over 100,000 in Ontario for organ donation registration" through Service Ontario at beadonor.ca. Presently, Kingston ranks #3 (at 46%) behind Sudbury (at 52%) and Barrie (49%) of Health Card holders registered.

The TAA is a registered charity that provides support, knowledge and encouragement to those touched by organ and tissue transplantation, and informs the public about the need and benefits to others of organ and tissue donation. Our continually growing group of living donors, donor families, recipients and their families, and friends are all committed to increasing public awareness about the need for organ and tissue donation and encouraging people to register their consent to online at beadonor.ca/taa_canada.

How can I help Kingston become #1

If you live in the Kingston region, go to beadonor.ca/taa_canada and check your registration status. If you are registered, GREAT, you are already helping and we thank you. If not, please register and get us closer to our goal! We appreciate it very much, but no where near as much as the 8 potential lives you can save.

Was there a contest at some point?

Yes! The TAA held a contest for Kingston Area high school student to design the logo for this Challenge. We had a lot of entries and the winning entry (seen above) was chosen. You can find more information of that contest on the Logo Contest link on the right hand side.

Have a great day!
Sincerely,
